Yummm...Real Spaghetti!

Just got back from Rome, Italy, the home of the HcG Diet research by Dr. ATW Simeons, the man who made my middle-aged body svelte again.  Almost needless to say,  I ate my way through the city, and came back 4 pounds heavier than before…and it was worth every sugar-filled, carb-loaded bite!

But it brings me to the question…how did those original test subjects live in Rome on only 500 calories a day?  Two grissini?  Who are they kidding?  Even with the HcG, and the strict supervision, it had to be a real challenge.

To me, this shows the power of HcG.  If they could live in Italy and not eat bread or cheese, surely you and I can follow this diet for a few weeks, in our own homes, with access to good organic ingredients and a plethora of recipes to keep us on track.

Me, personally, I don’t really enjoy cooking.  I do love eating though, and saving money.   So back from holiday, off to the supermarket I go.  It’s surely not the same as visiting a small mercato with cheeses and meats hanging off the ceilings and the lilting language of amore in the background…but when I am on HcG, I honestly don’t care.  I keep my eyes on the prize — a slim, attractive and HEALTHY body — grab my recipes, and honestly, sometimes, I surprise myself, and my hubby, by creating a delicious meal that stays within my HcG diet plan and feeds the family too.

Happy weekend and delightful dieting to all!

The camera doesn't lie

Okay, this is for the people who just don’t believe all the talk about the HcG Diet.  Here’s a video I did two weeks after I completed my first round of HcG.  First,if you haven’t seen it, here is my “before” video.  Now, completely out of chronological order, is one just two months later.

What can I add but that a video is worth more than 1000 words.  Take my word for it: You CAN lose weight with the HcG diet. Many companies offer free coaching as part of their packages, and there’s lots of books and recipes to support your journey too.  Just email me on HcGDietGuru@gmail.com if you need any support to get started now.

If I can do it, you can do it!   Here’s where it all started.

Don't worry, it won't hurt a bit!

People often ask me about whether it’s better to use shots or drops for the most efficient weightloss with HcG.  I have done both, and I prefer the shots — I think they’re stronger, and I lose weight faster…plus, you only have to do it once a day, as opposed to three times, so it’s less to remember.

But people have a funny reaction to the concept of shooting themselves with a needle, so today, without further ado, I give you a close up view of the entire process.

It’s easy, it doesn’t really hurt, and you would do it if your life depended on it without a second thought, like diabetics do.  And guess what?  Your life DOES depend on it.  A few weeks of HcG, my blood pressure went down, and the only thing that was hurting was my wallet, when I had to buy some new clothes for my new svelte body!

Even Dr. Oz doesn't know EVERYTHING!

Funny thing, on the same day that the papers reported the astronomical rises in obesity in our country, the same paper published a syndicated column on health by Dr. Mehmet Oz, one of the country’s most well known and respected  physicians.  The headline: The HcG Diet is Risky. Subhead: There are healthier ways to lose weight.  I agree — eat less and move more always is best — if you can stick to it.  Problem is, as we know, it’s not easy, and for some people, not really doable. But risky?  Maybe, although compared to obesity, which is riskier?

In his column, Dr. Oz explains the HcG diet, talks about the controversial 2007 HcG book by Kevin Trudeau, and then gets down to the “risks”.   He says that, like with any hormone treatment, this one has health risks — a woman MAY develop cysts or blood clots, and with prolonged use, men MAY have long term consequences.

Well, what about the risks of obesity?  We all know that list — most of us with food issues have had it drummed into us for years.  I will tell you that, after losing the big 5-0, I was able to reduce my blood pressure meds from three a day to one.  My risk of a heart attack or stroke went down significantly.  I MAY  live longer.  Now that’s a risk I’m willing to take.

Tomorrow is 1 month till Valentine’s Day — you MAY want to click on one of the links today, and you MAY look better in red when you’re a good 20 or so pounds lighter.

Meanwhile, you MAY click here to see the video of me way back at the beginning — I hope you’re as amused by it as I was!  Or you may go get a snack.  The choice is yours.  More videos to come soon!
