Don't worry, it won't hurt a bit!

People often ask me about whether it’s better to use shots or drops for the most efficient weightloss with HcG.  I have done both, and I prefer the shots — I think they’re stronger, and I lose weight faster…plus, you only have to do it once a day, as opposed to three times, so it’s less to remember.

But people have a funny reaction to the concept of shooting themselves with a needle, so today, without further ado, I give you a close up view of the entire process.

It’s easy, it doesn’t really hurt, and you would do it if your life depended on it without a second thought, like diabetics do.  And guess what?  Your life DOES depend on it.  A few weeks of HcG, my blood pressure went down, and the only thing that was hurting was my wallet, when I had to buy some new clothes for my new svelte body!

Even Dr. Oz doesn't know EVERYTHING!

Funny thing, on the same day that the papers reported the astronomical rises in obesity in our country, the same paper published a syndicated column on health by Dr. Mehmet Oz, one of the country’s most well known and respected  physicians.  The headline: The HcG Diet is Risky. Subhead: There are healthier ways to lose weight.  I agree — eat less and move more always is best — if you can stick to it.  Problem is, as we know, it’s not easy, and for some people, not really doable. But risky?  Maybe, although compared to obesity, which is riskier?

In his column, Dr. Oz explains the HcG diet, talks about the controversial 2007 HcG book by Kevin Trudeau, and then gets down to the “risks”.   He says that, like with any hormone treatment, this one has health risks — a woman MAY develop cysts or blood clots, and with prolonged use, men MAY have long term consequences.

Well, what about the risks of obesity?  We all know that list — most of us with food issues have had it drummed into us for years.  I will tell you that, after losing the big 5-0, I was able to reduce my blood pressure meds from three a day to one.  My risk of a heart attack or stroke went down significantly.  I MAY  live longer.  Now that’s a risk I’m willing to take.

Tomorrow is 1 month till Valentine’s Day — you MAY want to click on one of the links today, and you MAY look better in red when you’re a good 20 or so pounds lighter.

Meanwhile, you MAY click here to see the video of me way back at the beginning — I hope you’re as amused by it as I was!  Or you may go get a snack.  The choice is yours.  More videos to come soon!

Not me, but maybe you. (Real shots of me to come!)

Happy New Year!  If you’re anything like me around food, which I guess you are or you wouldn’t be here, you’re sitting there feeling like a stuffed Christmas turkey and wondering how you got that way.  I say, who cares?  Just take control and start right now.

I have no scale today, so am unable to weigh in — good excuse, huh? But I know just from looking at my body that I must be up five or six pounds.  Fortunately for me, my HcG diet has given me a new way to eat — less!  And fortunately for you, the easiest diet in the world is there for the taking!

Many questions have come up around HcG since I started writing this blog.  So, starting today, here are some answers.  Number 1) What the heck is the HcG anyway, and is it safe?

HcG is a human polypeptide naturally produced by all people, male and female, animals and even plants!  Misnamed as a hormone, it has recently gained fame as “the pregnancy hormone”, as it is produced in great amounts in pregnancy, and is popularly used for fertility.  Basically, what it does in a pregnant female is to release stored fat to nourish the developing baby.  If there’s no baby, it just releases fat.

Of course, it’s not quite that simple, and I am not a doctor nor a scientist, just a satisfied customer, and that’s how it was originally explained to me.  For weight loss, very small amounts of HcG are combined with a very strict very low calorie diet and the pounds just slip away.  Don’t worry about keeping the low calorie diet though; HcG produces an appetite suppressing result that lasts for about six weeks, during which you can lose up to a pound a day! (Average seems to be about 25 lbs in the six week course.)  And no exercise is required except walking every day.

As for the safety, the only contra-indication is that HcG should not be used by people who have or have had any cancer, although the current thinking in the medical community is that it’s okay.  Personally, I wouldn’t ever take that chance, and for those of you in that group, I’m sure you’ll agree that your health is much more important.  Other than that, the only reported side effect that I’ve heard of is headaches for the first few days.

HcG has been around since the 1920s, and was studied extensively in the 1950s.  It’s been approved for weight loss in other countries for many years, and has only recently become popular in the US.

For all the details, click here to read the original, definitive report on HcG by of Dr. A.T.W. Simeons,  probably the world’s greatest authority on HcG.  Written over 50 years ago, his program remains the core of an HcG diet.

Even Santa puts on a few at this time of year. No Problem -- he gets his HcG online!

Did you know that the typical American gains 7 to 8 pounds every holiday season? Think about it, you could become fat just by eating with wild abandon for five weeks out of every year!  Thank goodness I found the HcG Diet when I did.  I started my diet in early February almost two years ago, following a food-frenzy holiday and an orgiastic (food-wise) weekend cruise.  But by my birthday in April, I was down 25 pounds, and by the summer, another 25.  Easy weight loss with HcG.  That summer,  I took a road trip to NY, traveling with a neat portable scale, and I got to go to a Junior High School reunion looking nice and svelte.

So, today almost two years later,  I decided to celebrate the holidays with a cookie.  But darn that HcG!  It really changed the way I eat.  My head wants the sweet crunchiness of the cookie, but my appetite says “nah, not worth it, don’t bother”.  Who would have ever believed that I would have to talk myself INTO eating a cookie!

HcG is for sure the path to eternal thinness.  Eat On!

Eat what you want when you're sick -- HcG will help you lose weight later!

I’ve been flirting with the flu for about 10 days now, and it’s so easy for me to play the sick card and eat whatever I want to make me feel better.  But again, I remember how good it feels to be thin, and I stop myself…do I really want that muffin, those cookies, that cake (yes, I’ve somehow managed to drag myself out of bed and bake)?  And sometimes, the answer is yes.  So I eat it, and enjoy it, and weigh myself every morning, and wonder how those 3 pounds crept on — must have been while I was sleeping!

So, how do you keep the weight off?  We all know that’s the hardest part of dieting, and when you have lost the weight with HcG, sorry, the urge to eat, although much less and with different foods, is still there.  The beauty of it is that 1) the new HcG habits, like eating less, eating better and daily weigh-in, keep that urge in check, and 2) there is an easy way to get it off (an apple day, will talk more about that later) and finally, 3) it’s really easy to go back on the HcG for a few weeks post-illness and after the holidays, and get the weight off before it all comes back, no willpower required!

So eat, drink, be sick, feel sorry for yourself if you have to, but make the commitment to easily knock those pounds off with a three week round of HcG after the holidays!   For me, those maintenance bouts of HcG are such a relief — no urge to eat, simple menus without much to plan, choose or decide, and the knowledge that the weight will be gone in just a few days!

For a look back at the beginning of my journey, click here. And enjoy your holidays, eat whatever you want, and plan to lose weight again by Valentine’s Day with the HcG diet.
